Recently Team Avid members comprising of our own Jon Finch and Nigel Williams along with Ian Russell and Jon 'Shoes' Jones have just returned from what has been a session to remember. In four days fishing the lads managed to bank some of Abbey Lakes finest. Team Avid. You can certainly rely that these guys have put the products through their paces Jon and Nige opted to fish Heron Lake and set up in a quiet corner that looked good for a bite or two. Jon fished solid PVA bags of Grubber and Sucka pellets with a few crushed D-Liver boilies inside and then scattered about half a kilo of 12mm D-Liver boilies in the general area. At first light his left hand rod melted away and after an epic battle Jon managed to slip the net under a 58lb 4oz mirror. Simply magic. An Abbey whacker at 58lb 4oz Inspired by the electric atmosphere of a whacker on the bank Nige sat back in his swim in anticipation. Nige re-cast his rods back to the spots and scattered another 50 D-Liver 20mm boilies in the area. In no time at all after returning Jon's capture, Nige pulled into a steady take and what they were about to witness was truly awesome. As Jon got ready with the net a huge mirror appeared at the drawcord. In disbelief the mirror rolled into the net and upon parting the mesh they both released that the biggest fish in the lake had been nailed on a D-Liver boilie. Nige with Heron lakes Shoulders at 70lb 4oz With the Team Avid crew all present, they were about to witness the scales being pulled round to the magical 70lb mark. The huge mirror settled the dial at 70lb 4oz and who could have believed the two largest residents in the lake would crop up at the time of their visit. Awesome fishing and a session to remember. As many of you are aware our bait range has been going from strength to strength. As all of the bait in our range is in our own personal bait bags, we can develop and change products to suit. Ultimately we are always looking for superior quality and convenience. Our new bottles which now hold all of our liquids, are simply superb. With a flip top cap and easy pour nozzle, gone are the days of trying to pour thick or oily liquids into PVA bags and making a complete mess. For those anglers who have been using our D-SCENT range, the soft grip bottles and caps are even suited to the thick liquids. Not only will this save on making a complete mess, the easy pour cap allows you to deposit the exact quantities of liquid needed, for ultimate convenience. If you are intending to glug or dip hookbaits then simply unscrew cap and place baits through the wide neck. Baits of easily up to 24mm will fit. These bottles simply tick all the boxes for any angling situation. To view our full range please click here . |

One of the most popular boilies in the shop this spring has been our own D-Liver freezer bait, and it's always nice to hear when when it produces the goods. Over the last few weeks local angler Lee Scotford has been regularly baiting a Gloucestershire stillwater and his efforts are starting to pay off. This 28lb 8oz common was caught on one of Lee's prebaited spots over 1kg of D-Liver and from what we can see, it looks like the first one of many. Nice one Lee! |
